M40 Offices targets green future after £250,000 funding boost

Commercial lettings provider to use investment to improve its facilities and help reduce its carbon footprint at sites in Bicester Business Park

M40 Offices has received a £250,000 funding package from the East & South East Midlands (“ESEM”) Fund, managed by Maven Capital Partners (“Maven”), through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (“MEIF”).

The business, which specialises in providing a range of commercial lettings to firms, will use the funding to improve its facilities and reduce its carbon footprint at its sites in Bicester Business Park.

M40 Offices provides office space, warehouse units, and meeting rooms across its 85 sites in Bicester and Wheatley. Customers can also opt for the company’s virtual tenancy service which enables smaller business owners, freelancers and start-ups to register a company address to the premises.

To meet its current clients’ needs and attract new commercial opportunities, M40 Offices will also use the funding to build out, update and re-design existing units - updating technology and installing green energy measures such as solar panelling.

M40 Offices was founded over 30 years ago and is led by its Managing Director, Fraser Hamilton.

Fraser Hamilton, Managing Director for M40 Offices comments: “It has been a pleasure to work with Graham Hall and the team at Maven. This money will be used to invest in the infrastructure of our business parks; ensuring that M40 Offices’ facilities stay ahead of the competition.’’

Graham Hall, Investment Manager for Maven adds: “We’re delighted to support a business with a clear strategy on becoming a more environmentally friendly operation. The funding will enable Fraser to make his Bicester Business Park units more commercially attractive and carbon efficient to the region’s SMEs. Following the pandemic, many businesses will be reviewing their need for in town centre office space, and the company’s out-of-town sites that provide varying size, modern, sustainable business units for flexible rental, will be an attractive alternative proposition.”

Grant Peggie, Director at the British Business Bank, said: “Through our regional funds, we are supporting businesses that are contributing to the UK’s low-carbon agenda. This latest deal in M40 Offices demonstrates this commitment, with MEIF funding set to be used by the company to decarbonise and embrace greener energy.”

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.
